International Tax Review’s annual awards programme is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious distinctions in the global tax advisory profession. For more than two decades, the awards have recognised leading firms, expert teams and outstanding professionals across a broad range of tax specialisations. In addition to evaluating the complexity and impact of client engagements, the judging panel considers innovation, advances in tax technology, achievements in compliance and reporting, and initiatives promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

Strong international recognition for WTS Global 

The WTS Global network, represented in more than 100 countries, also achieved outstanding results in this year’s awards programme.

WTS Global was shortlisted in the following international categories:

Individual excellence recognised 

The 2026 shortlist also highlights the achievements of WTS professionals. Nils Bleckmann, indirect tax expert at WTS Germany, was shortlisted for Indirect Tax Practice Leader of the Year, while Artem Scherbyna of KM Partners was nominated in the Tax Advisory Rising Star category. 

The winners of the ITR Europe Tax Awards 2026 will be announced on Thursday 17 September 2026 at the Awards Ceremony at The Londoner, Leicester Square, London.

This year, for the eighth time, Hrpwr.hu, published by PPH Media, announced the HRkomm Award for Hungarian HR communication solutions and campaigns. In the competition, the professional jury rewarded the communication activities implemented in Hungary that were related to the employer’s activities and targeted potential or existing employees.

More than 100 nominations were received for this year’s HRkomm Award from the fields of HR communication, recruitment, employer branding and organisational development, and the jury took into account strategy, results and creativity.

This year for the first time, WTS Klient entered the HRkomm Award in the candidate experience category and won bronze for its entry “Unique Experience, Unique Team.” The experts on the judging panel highlighted our creative campaign elements, the videos produced by our ambassadors and our advertisements that really appeal to Generation Z.

For the fifth time this year DreamJo.bs launched its competition to provide support for jobseekers in choosing the most appropriate workplaces. Companies could register their profiles for the Most Lovable Workplaces 2021 award free of charge, and voters could vote for the most attractive workplace on dreamjo.bs/hu. The competition attracted 500 more workplaces than last year’s 1100, with not only Hungarian but also Romanian companies entering the competition. The number of voters also increased by 20% to 68 thousand. Based on the votes, 15 Romanian companies, 35 Hungarian large companies and 150 Hungarian SMEs – including WTS Klient – won the Most Lovable Workplaces 2021 title.

“While we pay special attention to retaining good colleagues, we are also constantly looking for motivated, well-qualified new employees to help us grow. The Most Lovable Workplaces 2021 award is both a great recognition of our efforts and a great opportunity for jobseekers to get to know our real values and atmosphere,” said Zoltán Lambert, managing partner of WTS Klient, in connection with the award.

European tax firms have been competing against each other every year since 2005 at the competition organised by the International Tax Review (ITR), Europe’s most renowned journal for taxation.

WTS Klient Hungary shortlisted for two awards

On 23 April ITR published on its website the list of European tax advisor companies, who have been the most successful in the past 12 months performing outstanding work, broken down, among other things, by country and field of expertise. WTS Klient Hungary has been shortlisted among the top five firms in two categories, as Hungary Tax Firm of the Year and Hungary Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year.

Members of WTS Global among finalists at European Tax Awards 2020

WTS Global, which in previous years has continuously taken home the Best Indirect Tax Firm of the Year title, and which is represented exclusively in Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe by WTS Klient Hungary, is now shortlisted among the best in five categories of the European Tax Awards 2020: CEE Tax Firm of the Year, Tax Compliance and Reporting Firm of the Year, Indirect Tax Firm of the Year, Tax Litigation and Disputes Firm of the Year, Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year.

At the European Tax Awards 2020 European partner firms of WTS Global have also been shortlisted, such as ICON in Austria, WTS Germany, Sorainen in the Baltic states, and WTS Tax Legal Consulting in Ukraine in two categories each, and Atlas Tax Lawyers in the Netherlands, Svalner in Sweden and FTI Consulting in the UK in one category each.

Online award ceremony

The candidates are evaluated by the jury according to three main criteria – size, innovation and complexity – and they are ranked by country and fields of activity. The winners selected based on these criteria will be revealed on 21 May. However, the 16^th official awards gala of the European Tax Awards 2020 will not be held because of the coronavirus pandemic. The winning firms will be announced by the organiser ITR online.

 The International Tax Review (ITR), Europe’s top magazine on taxation, is organising the competition for European tax companies for the 15^th time. This year, tax firms from 26 countries registered for the European Tax Awards 2019 competition, and even applicants for the ITR World Tax ranking will be included in the evaluation process.

Finalists of the European Tax Awards 2019

WTS Klient Hungary has been shortlisted in two categories for the European Tax Awards 2019 giving it a good chance at receiving the Hungary Tax Firm of the Year and the Hungary Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year titles.

WTS Global won the Indirect Tax Firm of the Year award in 2018 as well as in 2017, and has reached the finals of this category this year too, giving it a great chance of winning the European Indirect Tax Firm of the Year for the third time in a row. Besides the indirect tax category, WTS Global is also shortlisted for the European Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year award at the European Tax Awards 2019. Jürgen Scholz, managing partner of WTS Germany and the most acknowledged VAT specialist in the country, was nominated for the European Tax Practice Leader of the Year 2019 award. At the European Tax Awards 2019 competition, 10 WTS Global group members reached this year’s finals in 18 categories.

Award ceremony in London

The award ceremony has been organised by the renowned trade journal, the International Tax Review, every year since 2005 to honour the leading European tax firms. The candidates are evaluated by the jury according to three main criteria – size, innovation and complexity – and they are ranked by country and fields of activity.

The winners of the European Tax Awards 2019 will be announced on Thursday 16 May 2019 at a gala awards ceremony held at the Savoy Hotel in London.
