The objective of the new Strategic Advisory, State Aid and Incentives business line is to offer comprehensive support to both Hungarian and international companies in accessing grants and state aid possibilities for their investment and innovation projects. The range of services includes strategic advisory, consulting on investment grants based on individual government decisions (EKD), R&D incentives, and complex advisory services related to foreign direct investment (FDI). These are backed by the broader business advisory portfolio of WTS Klient Hungary and the legal expertise of WTS Legal.

Miklós Andorka appointed partner for Strategic Advisory, State Aid and Incentives

With over a decade of expertise in EU and domestic state aid schemes, Miklós Andorka strengthens the advisory capabilities of WTS Klient Hungary. He is an expert in international relations, a member of the Hungarian Economic Association, and serves as Secretary of its Development Policy Section. His specialist fields include investment incentives based on individual government decisions (EKD), subsidies for research, development and innovation, and strategic advisory for FDI projects. He is a regular speaker at professional conferences and business events. He joined WTS Klient Hungary as partner on 1 May 2025, having previously served as Deputy CEO for Strategy at MAPI Plc.

Responding to changes in the incentive landscape

The establishment of the new business line is a direct response to a growing need among the clients of WTS Klient Hungary for comprehensive support in state aid and investment incentives. The relevance of the launch is reinforced by the government’s recent amendments to the EKD incentive scheme, aimed at promoting high value-added investments, especially in less developed regions. The revised rules place increased emphasis on innovation, the involvement of domestic suppliers, and sustainability considerations.

“Strategic advisory has long been a key component of our service portfolio, especially given the significant portion of our clientele that approaches us in connection with foreign direct investment,” explained Zoltán Lambert, managing partner of WTS Klient Hungary. “Over the years, we have explored this field from legal, tax and accounting perspectives, and concluded that it is in our clients’ best interest to bring EKD and other state aid advisory services fully in-house. We are delighted that Miklós Andorka has joined us, as his extensive experience and high-level expertise will help us further expand and tailor our complex business advisory services to meet current market needs,” Zoltán Lambert added.

Noémi Lénárt holds qualifications as a chartered accountant, tax advisor and IFRS chartered accountant. Over the past 15 years, the accounting expert has gained extensive experience in both professional and management areas at a number of renowned international consulting firms. Her client portfolio includes a wide range of service providers and commercial clients with an international background, for whom Noémi has mainly provided accounting and tax compliance services.

She graduated from the Budapest Business University and the Hungarian Chamber of Auditors, and joined VGD in 2020, where she was in senior accounting manager position until the company’s merger into WTS Klient.

In her new position, as accounting director, Noémi Lénárt’s goal is to continue to support the further development of leading accounting digitisation processes at WTS Klient which has more than 25 years of experience and one of the most recognised players in the Hungarian market, providing personalised, complex business advisory services.

The new expert, who is also a qualified value-added tax expert and chartered accountant, has more than 16 years of experience in tax advisory. Previously, he has gained extensive experience in the field of taxation in international consulting firms and has led several successful tax projects in various industries. His expertise and commitment contribute significantly to optimising his clients’ tax strategies and ensuring tax compliance. He joined VGD Hungary in 2019, where he was involved in the business development of the firm, in addition to providing professional support to the tax and payroll business lines.

In his new position, Viktor Szabó aims to further strengthen WTS Klient’s market position and support his clients in managing tax challenges with innovative, solution-oriented, digital answers developed by the company. He also will play an important role in further developing digital solutions of the tax team at WTS Klient, which has more than 25 years of experience and is one of leading players in the Hungarian market, providing personalised, complex business advisory services.

An accounting firm established in 1998 by Hungarian individuals, Klient set up its tax consulting division in 2004, and joined WTS Global in 2013, one of the world’s leading tax and financial advisory networks. Prague-based financial investor, ARX Equity Partners, took a majority stake in the firm in 2022, and with this financial backing along with the 2023 acquisition of Finacont Kft., WTS Klient’s net sales revenue in 2023 exceeded HUF four billion and the number of its employees reached 300 by the end of 2024.

Founded in 2001, also by Hungarian individuals, the dynamic development of VGD Hungary has led to the emergence of a similarly successful company. In 2023, the company’s sales revenue was close to HUF 1.4 billion, and the number of its employees was over 60 by the end of 2024. 

Together with the legal services of WTS Legal, a legal attorneys association established on 1 June 2024, with a total of 370 employees and revenues of nearly HUF 7 billion, WTS provides now the full range of services of the complex business advisory market to more than a thousand clients in Hungary. With the acquisition of VGD Hungary in early July 2024, the company has embarked on a dynamic growth path that will make it the largest player in the Hungarian market after BIG4. 

“We are proud that we have recently achieved market leadership through the acquisition of two major players in the domestic accounting and tax advisory market and through our cooperation agreements. The International Tax Review (ITR), the world’s leading tax magazine, has announced – for the 20^th time – the competition of the best tax advisory firms, teams and professionals in the categories of transfer pricing, tax law and indirect tax in all jurisdictions of the world. The jury of the ITR Tax Awards 2024 also assessed achievements in the areas of tax technology, innovation, compliance and reporting, diversity, fairness and inclusion.

WTS Klient has reached the final, i.e. is among the five best, in more categories this year at the ITR Tax Awards 2024 than ever before: Hungary Tax Firm of the Year, Hungary Indirect Tax Firm of the Year, Hungary Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year and Hungary Tax Disputes Advisory Firm of the Year.

60 places for WTS Global members

WTS Global member companies operating in more than 100 countries occupy a total of 60 places on the shortlists broken down to countries and regions. In addition to the country and region awards, Jürgen Scholz, who leads the WTS Global Indirect Tax team, is a member of the German WTS Board and one of the country’s most respected VAT experts, has also been nominated for the region’s (EMEA) Indirect Tax Practice Leader of the Year award in 2024.

Excellent rating also in ITR World Tax 2025

Apart from being a finalist in the ITR Tax Awards 2024, WTS Klient Hungary numbers among the excellent companies also in the ITR World Tax 2025 list, published on 21 August. In the ranking of tax and transfer pricing advisory firms, the team of András Szadai, tax partner has again this year been ranked in Tier 2, retaining its excellent rating.

The ranking, which is based on the opinions of more than 29,000 clients and 5,300 tax professionals, includes more than 5,100 firms and 6,000 tax professionals from 155 countries around the world.

The synergy in the merger between the two entities lies not only in the similarity of their services, but also in clients. VGD Hungary is adding more international, primarily German-owned multinationals to the clientele at WTS Klient. With sales revenue of more than HUF 6 billion in 2024, the company will continue to provide its clients with accounting, tax advisory, audit, payroll, business outsourcing and HR services, as well as IT/automation solutions, thus covering the entire range of services on the business advisory market. 

WTS Klient’s business advisory activity is supported by the legal services of WTS Legal, which was formed on 1 June 2024. The legal attorneys association led by the Nádasdy Law Office and operating under the WTS brand works closely with WTS Klient and WTS Global. With a 15-strong team of legal experts it serves clients under the same roof as WTS Klient in the StefániaPark office building.

WTS Legal Attorneys Association was established by a team of formerly Noerr Budapest experts, including Zoltán Nádasdy, Viktor Füzi and Eszter Hegedűs, along with the team from the Szopkóné dr. Horváth Law Office.

The legal services provided by WTS Legal are primarily targeted at the client base supported by WTS Klient, multinational companies and large Hungarian corporations, but also cover a wide range of business sectors. The association’s main profile is commercial, real estate and corporate law, but they also give advice on employment law, data protection law, litigation and environmental law, as well as conducting due diligences, and they have many years of experience supporting clients in legal fields related to the digital economy as well.
