Shared service centre: SSC activity of the WTS Klient Outsource team

Operating shared service centres, or SSC activity, is an area of WTS Klient Hungary’s financial management business line. As part of our outsource SSC activity, we set up and partially or fully run the shared service centres of multinational corporations in Hungary.

Despite being around for more than two decades, automation in the financial industry based on global centralisation to increase efficiency with the emergence then spread of administrative service centres (SSCs) still counts as a modern approach. And SSC activity, i.e. the outsourcing of service centre-based operations, is a particularly innovative solution in this area.

Expertise and experience

However, we recognised the extraordinary efficiency of SSC activity early on, and so we already have many years of experience and the expertise of a large number of staff working in the field on a continuous basis to offer our clients.

Our colleagues provide customised operating frameworks in multiple languages covering more than 20 countries, mainly in the European Union. Constantly competing and complying in an international SSC environment is part of the daily routine for our staff.

What do we offer?

As part of the SSC activity, we are also often involved in tasks, for example:

• design, operation and continuous improvement of process-driven activities,
• integration of new systems and solutions,
• development and operation of measurement systems,
• development and operation of efficiency-boosting systems.

Pillars of SSC documentation

Accounting and financial processes are documented in the SSC activity with segregated responsibilities, in accordance with the following pillars:

• P2P – Purchase to Pay (purchase and approval processes from invoice booking to payment)
• O2C – Order to Cash (sales order processing, from invoicing to customer payment processing, accounts receivable management).
• R2R – Record to Report (includes financial closing and reporting processes)
• BI-KPI – Business Intelligence – Key Performance Indicator (tracking performance using business intelligence linked to databases)
