According to Section 8/A (1) of Act CXXI of 1999 on Chambers of Commerce, business entities and sole traders subject to registration are obliged to register themselves at their local chamber of commerce within five working days of being registered in the company register. The contribution towards the tasks carried out by the chamber is HUF 5,000 per year (chamber contribution).
This year the payment deadline is 31 March 2013.
The chamber contribution is considered a tax, and is collected by the tax authority as such.
The chamber is obliged to carry out the following services free of charge:
- consulting in economic, financial, taxation and lending issues,
- business partner searches,
- tender monitoring.
Competent chambers must be informed within five working days of any changes to the data of business entities or if entities are terminated.
The chamber contribution may be paid by bank transfer, in cash at the customer service desk, or using the “yellow cheques” which can be requested at the chambers.
